If Shaytan Designed Your Daily Routine…Would It Look Different from Yours?
Imagine this.
You wake up.
Before your feet touch the floor, your hand reaches for your phone.
A few notifications.
A few messages.
A few videos.
“Just five minutes.”
But five minutes become thirty.
The morning adhkār are forgotten.
The Qur’an stays on the shelf.
Fajr is rushed… or missed.
Now ask yourself a difficult question:
If Shaytan had planned your morning, would he change anything?
Allah tells us that Shaytan is our clear enemy. Yet he rarely asks us to commit huge sins overnight.
Instead, he whispers.
“You can pray later.”
“One more video won’t hurt.”
“You’re too tired to read the Qur’an today.”
“You’ll become a better Muslim when life gets less busy.”
Little by little, these whispers become habits.
And habits become a lifestyle.
Shaytan Doesn’t Need to Make You Evil
He only needs to keep you…
Too busy to remember Allah.
Too distracted to reflect.
Too tired to worship with your heart.
Too entertained to notice how far you’ve drifted.
If your day is full of everything except Allah, Shaytan has already won an important battle.
What Does Your Daily Timeline Look Like?
Let’s be honest.
2 hours scrolling.
1 hour watching videos.
Endless chats.
Online shopping.
Five minutes with the Qur’an…
…if that.
Imagine opening your phone and seeing this message:
“Screen Time Today: 4 hours 36 minutes.”
Now imagine another message:
“Time Spent Remembering Allah Today: 6 minutes.”
Which report would worry you more?
Shaytan Loves One Word
“Later.”
Later I’ll pray.
Later I’ll make tawbah.
Later I’ll memorize Qur’an.
Later I’ll wear hijab.
Later I’ll start.
But Allah never promised us later.
He only gave us today.
A Successful Day Looks Different
Success is not having a perfectly organized schedule.
Success is ending the day with a heart that is closer to Allah than it was yesterday.
Maybe you prayed on time.
Maybe you read one page of the Qur’an.
Maybe you said SubḥānAllāh while driving.
Maybe you smiled because the Prophet ﷺ taught us that even a smile is charity.
These small acts are not small to Allah.
Rewrite the Routine
Tomorrow morning, try something different.
Before touching your phone…
Touch your heart.
Say:
Alḥamdulillāh for another day.
Pray Fajr with calm.
Read even one verse from the Qur’an.
Make one sincere duʿā’.
Remember that every moment is a chance to earn Allah’s pleasure.
Don’t let Shaytan write the first chapter of your day.
Write it yourself—with the remembrance of Allah.
One Final Question
Tonight, before you sleep, ask yourself:
“Did my routine bring me closer to Allah… or quietly pull me away?”
The answer to that question may tell you who has been shaping your day.
And the beautiful news is this:
No matter what yesterday looked like, tomorrow can begin with Bismillāh.
