The Person the Prophet ﷺ Never Forgot: A Lesson in Kindness
Have you ever felt that your efforts go unnoticed?
Sometimes, the people who do the smallest jobs make a big difference in our lives. Yet, we may forget to thank them or even notice their presence.
A beautiful story from the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ teaches us an important lesson about kindness, respect, and the value of every person.
A Simple Job, A Beautiful Lesson
There was a person who used to clean the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. This person quietly took care of the mosque, helping keep it clean for everyone.
One day, this person passed away. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was not informed about the death.
When he asked about the person and learned what had happened, he said:
“Why did you not inform me?”
He then asked to be shown the grave. The Prophet ﷺ went there and offered the funeral prayer.
This beautiful moment was narrated by Abu Hurairah (RA) and recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari (Hadith 458).
What Can We Learn?
This story reminds us that no good deed is too small, and no person should be overlooked.
The person who cleaned the mosque may not have been famous or wealthy, but their service mattered.
The Prophet’s ﷺ actions teach us to notice people who work quietly behind the scenes and to treat everyone with kindness and respect.
Think about the people around you: the person who cleans your workplace, the one who helps you every day, or someone who serves others without expecting praise.
A simple thank-you, a kind word, or a little appreciation can mean more than we imagine.
True kindness begins when we learn to see the value in others, even when the world overlooks them.
